The Role

 

To carry out preventative and corrective maintenance of Eurotunnel’s Electrical Infrastructure in compliance with the maintenance plan, ensuring conformity to our safety, performance, and minimum operating requirements. This role will require knowledge and experience of low voltage equipment and a willingness to work towards encompassing high voltage maintenance and switching within your role. This will be trained in steps with support from the team, managing your competence throughout.

 

Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications and Experience

 

  • To be aware of and comply with Eurotunnel’s safety and security core principals promoting continuous safety improvements and a positive safety culture. 
  • Carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance independently in accordance with the maintenance instructions to the required quality and defined standards, this may include completion of new installations, fault finding, diagnostics and rectification on existing assets.
  • Assist with High Voltage planned preventative and corrective maintenance under supervision, until competency allows you to undertake High Voltage work yourself, in accordance with our Maintenance Instructions, to our required quality and defined standards.
  • To carry out safe isolation of Electrical Equipment and complete complimentary safety documentation.
  • To identify and propose with engineering justification, positive technical improvements regarding Eurotunnel’s equipment, processes, and practices.
  • To be forward thinking and motivated towards career development advancing towards High Voltage competence. NVQ Level 3 Electrical installations with a minimum of 3 years’ experience is essential.
  • Electrical Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) / Electrical BTEC Level 3 desirable, but not essential.
  • AM2 Certification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Electrical ECS card is desirable, but not essential.
  • BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable, but not essential. 
  • C&G 2391 Electrical Test and Inspection is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance in a commercial or industrial environment is desirable, but not essential.
  • A valid Driving Licence and Passport is essential.
  • The ability to communicate in French and/or another European Language is desirable.
