Job description

The Application Support Specialist will provide technical and functional support for commercial systems within Eurotunnel’s IT department. The role ensures the smooth operation of business applications by diagnosing and resolving issues, assisting users, and contributing to system improvements. This position requires adaptability to a diverse technical environment and close collaboration with project managers, support teams, and business users.

Job requirements

  • Technical Support: Respond to and resolve application support requests promptly and effectively.

  • Issue Diagnosis: Analyse and troubleshoot application problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • User Assistance: Provide guidance and training to users on application functionality.

  • Incident Management: Log, track, and resolve incidents using the support system.

  • Collaboration: Work with development teams, business stakeholders, and IT technical teams to resolve complex issues and enhance application performance.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate support documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process and service enhancements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation, Microsoft technologies) are advantageous.

  • Minimum of 2 years in application support or a similar technical role.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for software applications.

  • Knowledge of web applications (.NET) and SQL language.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including working on unfamiliar systems.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with web applications, cloud environments, and CRM systems.

  • Ability to understand (read/speak) French is a plus.
