Job description

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Telecom and Control Systems (TCS) Technician to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and performance of Eurotunnel’s critical infrastructure. As part of the first line of technical response, you will ensure the availability, safety, and efficiency of systems that underpin our operations.

Working across both UK and French sites, you will support a diverse range of enterprise systems, including toll lane equipment, CCTV, public address, access control, and fire detection. Your work will directly contribute to operational resilience, data accuracy, and service continuity for customers and colleagues.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Job requirements

  • Follow all Health & Safety and operational procedures at all times.

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on telecom and control systems using approved instructions to ensure reliability.

  • Diagnose and repair faults promptly using established procedures to minimise downtime.

  • Prepare equipment for service through inspections and testing to meet operational standards.

  • Accurately record and report equipment performance in line with agreed schedules and standards.

  • Use administrative systems effectively to manage tasks and updates.

  • Undertake training to become qualified in relevant telecommunications systems and maintain competency.

  • Participate in a 24/7 rotating roster, including nights and weekends, and join the on-call roster once trained.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in telecommunications or electronics.

  • A HNC / HND / NVQ (or equivalent) in telecommunications/electronics plus relevant experience; or

  • A BTEC / City & Guilds (or equivalent) in a technical discipline with relevant experience.

  • Bilingual communication skills in English and French are highly desirable.

  • Full UK Driving Licence and valid Passport are essential.

  • Ability to meet the required medical standard for the role.
