Job description

We are seeking a Civils Technician to join our civil engineering team supporting the maintenance of key infrastructure assets, including tunnels, terminals, and buildings. In this role, you will carry out planned and corrective maintenance, accurately record asset status in the Maintenance Management System (MMS), and continue developing your technical capability to work autonomously on a wide range of plant and infrastructure systems. You will also contribute to the development of junior technicians within the civils department.

Job requirements

  • Promote and follow all safety and security principles, contributing to a positive safety culture.

  • Participate in Field Safety Talks, safety audits, and incident/accident reporting.

  • Complete planned maintenance across tunnels, service tunnels, and terminals, ensuring all activity is recorded accurately in the MMS.

  • Respond to anomaly reports and interface with operational control teams.

  • Support quality control of subcontractors.

  • Complete required safety documentation and processes for work in railway zones and terminal road areas.

  • Take required actions to prevent operational breaches and support the improvement of maintenance documentation.

  • Participate in and, when required, deliver ongoing training.

  • Provide support to other Systems and Equipment Services when needed.

  • Contribute to effective cross‑border team collaboration.

  • Complete all required shift reports and administrative documentation.

  • Support the organisation and planning of maintenance activities.

  • Follow quality assurance processes and keep up to date with revised documentation.

  • Carry out any other relevant duties as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience working within a civil engineering environment.

  • A CSCS card or equivalent qualification, plus demonstrable relevant experience.

  • Familiarity with construction plant machinery and/or industrial maintenance.

  • An understanding of building infrastructure, with the ability to carry out competent repairs.

  • A valid driving licence.

  • Fluent spoken and written English (French language skills are beneficial but not essential).

  • Willingness to be trained in specialist maintenance platforms and works train operations.

  • Willingness to work a roster and participate in an on‑call rota.
